In the spirit of "working together to fight the epidemic through these difficult times”, and with strong corporate social responsibilities, on 3 March 2022, the Foundation donated Hong Kong Dollars One Million to the “Hong Kong Community Anti-Epidemic Link” and the “Hong Kong Volunteer Development Council” to support the virus testing of all Hong Kong residents, and provide support the communities in most need and help Hong Kong recover from the epidemic.

Mme. Li Ching, the executive director of China Gas Holdings Limited and Chairman of China Gas Charity Foundation, said that the current epidemic situation in Hong Kong is severe and the number of confirmed cases continues to rise, causing an unprecedented impact on Hong Kong society. The Foundation took the initiative to contact “Hong Kong Community Anti-Epidemic Link” and “Hong Kong Volunteer Development Council” and immediately donated money to support the Hong Kong SAR Government in carrying out the virus testing of all Hong Kong residents, making contributions to Hong Kong's fight against the epidemic.

In the current outbreak, the elderly are at most at risk and in need of help, the money donated to "Hong Kong Volunteer Development Council " will be mainly used to assist the elderly living alone/needy elderly aged 65 or above in units of Hong Kong Housing Department, Hong Kong Housing Association and Xi Yuan Elderly Centre to complete the all resident mandatory testing.

In addition to providing services for the elderly, the donation will be used to support the volunteer services of Hong Kong city wide resident testing, including arranging volunteers to assist in the service and crowd control of the testing stations in each district, helping community groups and institutions to organize volunteers to provide epidemic prevention services,  distributing epidemic prevention materials and providing the latest epidemic information; and to provide rapid test kits and basic epidemic prevention equipment to volunteers and Hong Kong citizens, i.e. face masks, gloves, protective clothing, protective caps and alcohol hand sanitizer, as well as support for meals and transportation to volunteers.

The two organizations expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for its generous donation and committed to put all resources to community anti-epidemic efforts by distributing all resources to those in need.

The Foundation is aimed to help people in most urgent need, care for society, and exert its strength in public welfare undertakings in the fields of low carbon, environmental protection and education.
